When I first saw it, I took it for what it was, went into it knowing I wasn't going to take it seriously, and I thought it was funny. it might have also had something to do with the fact that I was only 21 then I saw it twice in theaters (I live in a small town with an extremely cheap theater, at the time, only $2), And when it came out I bought it and watched it a million times within a month or two.
But now, I haven't watched it since 2008-09 and I cringe thinking about the jokes, there was only one funny joke. Although. I do like Mike Myers singing, so one joke +3 songs, otherwise the movie sucks.
Having said that, I don't think his career should have died after that. If Adam Sandler is still going after Jack and Jill (and I am actually an Adam Sandler fan but I think we can all agree that J&J was a huge peice of beep Then Mike Myers really should have another chance.
