      I think he will be a legendary author. I think he is a good enough author that this will happen.

        He already seems to be considered one of those "legendary authors". He's one of the few authors that everybody seems to know, and has many movies based on his books (that will likely continue to be made for decades). Maybe someday his stories will age to be less interesting over time, maybe people will stop seeing what made them good for their time, I don't know. Judging by the rate of cancel culture, though? I think eventually people will unfortunately stop seeing HP Lovecraft as legendary.
