It actually makes me sad how talented she is and how she's only known as 'the crazy woman who dated Ellen Degeneres (even though her whole story is really interesting and sad, as well). I remember being about 10 years old when i saw the movie Volcano and recall being weirdly attracted to her, and then a few years later I saw her in Gracie's Choice, and even though her character was awful, she played it so perfectly I couldn't believe she wasn't more famous.
Other films/TV shows she was great in:
Birth
Fatal Desire
Six Days Seven Nights
Hung
The thing is she's never really the lead role in any films, and she tends to choose TV movies (which she elevates completely) I feel like if she chose better projects she could really gain more recognition and even win awards (not that that's the only thing that matters).
Anyone else agree? -

She stood on a breakthrough in 97, but got nothing when she offered her relationship with Degeneres. Puritanical America killed her career
One of the most talented actresses worldwide never received the recognition, she deserved based on her game. Her carreer stood on a breakthrough, but was nipped in the bud by Hollywood.
She was hospitalized in small(tv) films..
She was great in Donnie Brasco, Auggie Rose, Gracie's Choice, Fatal Desire, Girl Fight And Hilarious in Girls in Prison and Six Days
In my opinion, she has delivered her best performance in Return To Paradise And yes she should have won all the awards that year for that perfomance
Beyond her unusual but incredible sexy looks and appearance, she can play all genre's and has a limitless facial mimicry.
Will always sin, but she begins to get more and more recognition
