I really loved the first film Jody Foster directed called Little Man Tate. It was a wonderfully charming story. I really thought childhood are wonderful periods of most people's lives but it was interesting to see it in different perspective and it was such childhood story many kids could relate, a feeling of being different than what they feel childhood should be also and it was interesting to view the story from view point of the child. Most films when told about childhood are dark themes but this one was relate able for the majority of how many kids go through during childhood. It's great that it was very family friendly theme to the film one which both parent and child can both enjoy. I stumbled onto this film in the stacks of DVDs at the Local public library.
I really loved the film Contact. It was so beautiful when she finally reached space and said they should have sent a poet to describe the beauty that she saw in space.
But I really was disappointed when she meets her father in Heaven or another planet in the universe that not all civilizations end up where they end up. I really wish they would've edited it and said Yes all of the human race end up here and we don't know how we all got here in the first place.
The film really peaked my curiosity about Heaven and the Universe and Space and about space travel. It was such a beautiful film. I could understand when she made her testimony in front of the government leaders that she wanted people to experience what she saw and experienced. Sometimes I feel like that about my dreams. I see so much beauty in my dreams I wish I could show it on film. Sometimes my dreams feel like bigger than anything anyone can imagine or can conceive on their own.
Maybe that's why I have an interest in writing as well as film. With the use of imagination and through filmmaking you can bring to life your wildest dreams and imagination onto the big screen to share with rest of the world.
