Yes he did along with mountain climbing.

Actually, Eastwood only engaged in mountain climbing for the film that he directed and starred in,
The Eiger Sanction
(shot in 1974, released in 1975). He had participated in a little rock climbing as a kid, but nothing like what he chose to do for the movie. The effort was difficult for him.
He did lift weights regularly and may still do so. He also regularly ran or jogged and played tennis or golf.

I thought he looked quite strong in the arms. It's obvious he had done weights for a while and been active in running and keeping fit.
