For me, the butler's confession scene in
Spider-Man 3
was such a "you've got to be ****ing kididng me" moment that it caused me to walk out on the movie.
For nine years, that was the dumbest, most face-palming moment I'd ever seen in a superhero movie. I'll let you do the math to figure out which scene took its place, although that moment only caused me to laugh hysterically. -

You know, The only problem that I myself have with that is the fact that people still to this day are asking how The Emperor returned.
Seriously, If people didn't bring their MASSIVE Egos and Hate for Disney "
STAR WARS
" into that Movie when they went to see it then they would have actually heard Dominic Monaghan's character say (at 0:21 in the Video above) in that Scene that Palpatine returned because of cloning.
I myself never do that sort of thing because I am smart enough to know that bringing your MASSIVE Ego and Hate for something involving the Movie that you will be seeing and thinking more about that than the Movie itself can really ruin a person's experience when they go to the Movie Theater and see that Movie.
That being said, I did hear Monaghan's character say it (again, at 0:21 in the Video above) when I first saw the Movie. -

Cloning doesn't explain how he died and came back and it was just dumb to bring him back anyway no matter how they did it. It is just bad writing. You can even see Oscar Isaac break character and sigh in disgust right before he reads the line.

"No bitch.
You are a Palpatine."
———————————–
and just who are you to say that she can't reject her 'Palpatine' name and take the 'Skywalker' name as her own ?
The last time that I checked, "
STAR WARS
" did not belong to the Fans.
The Fans don't get to decide who is and is not a 'Skywalker' and who can and who can't be a 'Skywalker'.
Also, Luke Skywalker himself said earlier in the movie (when he was talking to Rey on the island) that "some things are stronger than blood".
Also, When Rey called herself 'Rey Skywalker', Both Luke and Leia were looking at her approvingly with smiles on their faces. They clearly had no problem with it.
In the end when it comes down to it, The Fans have absolutely ZERO say when it comes to what happens in "
STAR WARS
" and that I think is the right decision.
"
STAR WARS
" Fans these days have become so self-entitled and so negative that if they did have a say in what happens in "
STAR WARS
" then the Franchise would immediately go right down into the ground.
When it comes to "
STAR WARS
" Fans, There is a famous saying (which these days is 100 percent true) and that is
"Nobody Hates Star Wars More Than Star Wars Fans"
.
