Its either art or product. Rarely both. You can really tell the difference. Im watching Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom right now after being on a kick of indie/arthouse kick and its like eating McDonald's after having been eating prime rib.
The first JP, and Stephen Spielbergs films in general, are both art and product. They make the big bucks and are designed to. But they are thoughtfully and artfully crafted. The first Jurassic Park has proven itself to be a real jewel in the action/adventure category. I'm reminded of what it did so well by the failings of the recent "World" trilogy. I hope the new one is good. Looking forward to it. I'll be really mad if it sucks.

Early reactions say its better than the last 3. If its on par with Lost World or JP3, ill be satisfied.
But yeah, what started with an absolute masterpiece of blockbuster style cinema ended up turning into fast food of the silver screen.

i heard from someone who viewed an advanced screening that the after credits scene is a shirtless Jeff Goldblum raucously clapping a thicc dino’s cheeks shot from an angle right behind his sagging wrinkly balls
