My best guess is that this is adapted from McDuffie's
Justice League: Worlds Collide
screenplay. It may even mark a (temporary) return to the DCAU (aka the Timmverse). However, I can't confirm this at this time. It could also be a retelling of the first JLA/JSA team-up.

I don't know what to think about this just yet I wouldn't be surprised if you are right and they did just change the name from World's Collide. Makes sense. So you mean to tell me there were the Justice Lords and The Crime Syndicate but in two different realities?

Yes, that's what would have happened if
Worlds Collide
had been produced. The story would have set up
JLU
and explained Wonder Woman's invisible plane. Remember that the Justice Lords were originally going to be the JSA, not the Crime Syndicate.

Wasn't the Justice Guild supposed to be the JSA too? So you mean to tell me DC aced out Timm and Co. TWICE on the rights to use the JSA? I don't understand why they wouldn't let them use them instead of The Justice Lords.

You seem confused. Yes, the Justice Lords were originally going to be the JSA (Justice Society of America). The show ended up making the Justice Lords alternate versions of the Leaguers, themselves, from a parallel Earth. The Crime Syndicate of Amerika is
not
based on the JSA. It is, essentially, an evil Justice League from a different alternate Earth (originally, Earth-3).

No, I understand where you going with it. I'm just curious to see how they introduce the CSA if it is "World's Collide". It would seem kind of repetitive if they were to do it the way they did The Justice Lords. Plus, wouldn't it be a little weird considering they never mentioned an encounter with The CSA if it does take place between JL and JLU? I mean they did referance their encounter w/The Justice Lords A LOT through JLU. Seems kind of odd that they wouldn't have even referanced a battle with the CSA, especially since Timm and Co. had this idea since JLU began.
I only say this because they did great work laying the foundation in every series and a tremendous job building upon it as each series evolved.

Well, if this
is
Worlds Collide
, remember that it was intended to be made before
JLU
. It may have been re-written to take place afterward (if it doesn't prove to be an entirely different story).

World's Collide suggests to me that it could be a cross over between DC Universe with the "Milestone universe" where the character Static exists (from Static Shock cartoon). Maybe it's based on the McDuffie World's Collide crossover back in the the mid-90's. However, since Static already appeared in JLU it's unlikely to be this, at least I hope it's not.
I want it to be a JLA and JSA (or maybe All-Star Squadron) crossover story. -

This is based on Dwayne McDuffie's "Worlds Collide" story that was set between Cartoon Network's
Justice League
and
Justice League Unlimited
. The adversaries are the Crime Syndicate of America from an alternate universe. The original story would have bridged
JL
with
JLU
. This new take removes it from the DCAU and has Hal Jordan as the story's Green Lantern.
More details have come to light, including some of the cast and crew: Bruce Timm (
Superman/Doomsday
,
Green Lantern: First Flight
) is executive producer. Lauren Montgomery (
Wonder Woman
,
Green Lantern: First Flight
) and Sam Liu (
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
) are co-directors. All-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (
NCIS
) as Superman, James Woods (
Ghosts of Mississippi
) as Owlman, Chris Noth (
Sex and the City
,
Law & Order: Criminal Intent
) as Lex Luthor, William Baldwin (
Dirty Sexy Money
) as Batman, Gina Torres (
Serenity
,
Firefly
) as Super Woman and Bruce Davison (
X-Men
) as the President.
The direct-to-video animated movie is expected to be released in Spring 2010.

"but why are they bringing in new voice actors ?? Is this a cost thing?"
If it was cost, they'd be using established voice actors, instead of engaging in celebrity casting. This is Warner Premiere trying to give the project a higher profile. They've done the same thing with many of the previous DTV movies.

But don't the buyers of thes DVD's and BR's want the SAME VOICES from earlier movies and the TV series ???
I want Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly and Clancy Brown not movie stars doing cameos for animation when they have a few weeks between gigs. -

The Warner Premiere DTV movies have all been stand-alone projects (so far). With no continuity from one to another, the opportunity is there to experiment with different voices suited to particular projects.

James Harvey, administrator for The World's Finest, has a rumored title for the next PG-13 DC Universe DTV movie to follow the February 23rd release of
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
:
According to unconfirmed reports and sources, the next title in the "DC Universe Animated Original Movie" line is
Batman: Under the Red Hood
, slated for a mid-2010 release. Stay tuned for confirmation and further details.
I don't know if this is the same project that ComicMix's Glenn Houman heard about at San Diego Comic Con when he reported a possible adaptation of
Batman: The Killing Joke
.
