Justice League- The New Frontier is the second in a series of direct-to-dvd animated films DC Comics are making. All of them are PG-13 and intended for a mature audience.
Superman- Doomsday
Justice League- The New Frontier
Batman- Gotham Knight
Wonder Woman- The Amazon Princess
Green Lantern- First Flight
Superman/Batman- Public Enemies
Justice League- Crisis on Two Earths
Batman- Under the Red Hood
Though I haven't liked all of them, I would recommend checking them out. I really recommend Batman- Under the Red Hood, it's a nice blend of the classic Batman animated series and the Nolan films. And I agree, New Frontier was very well done. -

Before the current series of DC Universe Animated Movies there was also 1993's
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
and three direct-to-video movies:
Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero
;
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
and
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
(I would recommend the Uncut Version of the last).
There is also a violent, unrated direct-to-video animated movie,
Turok, Son of Stone
(American Indians vs. dinosaurs) based on the comic-book and videogame character.
Marvel and Lionsgate has made several animated films:
Ultimate Avengers
;
Ultimate Avengers 2
;
The Invincible Iron Man
;
Doctor Strange
;
Next Avengers: Heroes for Tomorrow
(the most kid-friendly);
Hulk Vs.
;
Planet Hulk
; and the upcoming
Thor: Tales of Asgard
.
