Why isn't Michael Ironside Darkseid?

Andre Braugher is so random and un-deep voiced. They brought back Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, and even Ed Asner! So why not Ironside as Darkseid? That's the money ticket as far as I'm concerned. I could see them casting a new Supergirl, but in Public Enemies they couldn't help themselves to bring back Clancy Brown as Lex so I'm vexed as to why they would continue with "some voices from the DCAU besides Supes/ Bats, yet randomly not others!" Granny Goodness was more replaceable than Darkseid IMO. It's just weird, at this point I wish they had just recast all the voices than half and half.

He has continued to do voice over work for Marvel in "Wolverine and the X-men". I was very surprised when I saw he wasn't on the cast list but Ed Asner as "Granny Goodness" was lol. Don't get me wrong, Ed Asner is great I just thought since Clancy Brown returned to voice Luthor and CCH Pounder came back as Waller that Andrea Romano would've continued the same trend with both of them.
The rough cuts of Andre seem ok but we also have to keep in mind the rough cuts for Bruce Greenwood as Batman were a little off too. But the final product spoke for itself and Greenwood knocked it out of the park. Hopefully Andre does the same.

I think Greenwood is as good a Batman voice as Contrary personality, however we didn't get to hear do a Playboy Bruce Wayne voice, if he can do that as well, then I think he should officially replace Connery.
I hope this is the last Superman/Batman film, the rest of those storylines completely suck, and I wasn't to fond of this either (Loeb ruined Supergirl even further) it's really only Public Enemies I wanted to see.

I heard rumors that Greenwood is reprising his role as Batman in "Young Justice". Hope it's true, could definitley see him taking the reigns as The Dark Knight and have Conroy return occasionally for the "Superman/Batman" features.

It's not a rumor. The announcement was made in a press release connected to the
Young Justice
preview at Comic-Con International.

I am also dissapointed that Michael Ironside is not gonna be in this. This new guy's voice does not sound deep or evil enough in my opinion, from what I heard in the "first look", but maybe it will be better in the finished product. You know what else would be an interesting/fun idea. Bring back Frank Welker who voiced Darkseid on Super Powers Team. That is the voice I hear in my head whenever I read a comic with Darkseid!

Welker voiced Darkseid in Super Powers Team? That's interesting. Everytime I think of Welker I think of the animals he voices. And Fred from Scooby Doo lol.

yup, he did. Also the villian on Inspector Gadget, which is pretty much the same voice. Also does anyone know if Desaad is in this fiolm? Will Rene Auberjonois return as his voice? He actually provide the voice on Super-Friends as well as Justice League!

yeah thats a voice Welker used a lot. not only as Darkseid and Dr. Claw but he also used it for that demon thing at the end of the first Mortal Kombat live action movie and used it again in the Spawn live action movie for the devil.
and an interesting tidbit, while not obvious with the vocal effects added in post production, its the same voice he used for Soundwave on the original Transformers movie. which he used again but without effects in Revenge of the Fallen.
so yeah its definately a "go to" voice for Mr. Welker. lol -

I totally agree. I like Andre Braugher but he just can't pull off the "I'm the most evil motherfrakker in the universe" vibe like Michael Ironside can. -

Agreed!
Think Everyone respects Michael Ironside as the voice of Darkseid and rightfully so. Andre Braugher if given a chance however, might offer up something Ironside didn't manage to do himself though.
Somebody else who's different and new walking and taking a well known role is always a change of pace and it'll be different alright, but its not necessarily a bad thing though, the film will be out on DVD/Blu-Ray within a few weeks time so we know soon enough exactly how Andre Braugher was for everybody as Darkseid!

Darkseid should have been voiced by Lance Henriksen.
Braugher has a cool voice but is horribly miscast as Darkseid, he'd make a nice Despero or Mongul.
Darkseid should always sound as if with a cold calculated menace, here he sounds like a generic crime boss and way too emotional.
