Some movie company should really do a spin off of the character Captain Nemo. There are no copyrights on that character anymore. I would love to see Nasheruddin Shah reprise his role as Captain Nemo. The possibilities are endless!

Disney is developing a new adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but I doubt they'd cast Nasheruddin Shah again. He was a good Nemo, but any further adaptations of these characters will surely try to distence themselves from this film as much as they can.
Don't lie, John, I know you and your monkey are hiding something

Everytime I see this movie, I think the samething. In fact, that is the reason I am here right now, to see if there is anything in the works. What a cool character.

Just to make things interesting.Verne's original intent was that Nemo was a Polish count whose family was murdered by the Russians. In the original 20,000 LEAGUES novel he's clearly described as a white European. But Verne's books were popular in Russia and his publishers convinced him to change Nemo's nationality to help sales, so in the sequel, MYSTERIOUS ISLAND, Nemo's nationality was changed and he became an Indian prince with a vendetta against the British.
Facts need to come before certainty.
