I remember watching this as a kid, I can't remember much but I do remember it being like a soap opera that had a comic book character who did absolutely nothing.
Did he have many fights?
Was this a follow on to the twp movies? -

This series isnt literally a superhero/action show. Its a blend of scifi/fantasy/soap opera/drama.
Swamp Thing is most of the time a supporting character but there are a few episodes about him. He usually interacts with the characters, advising, warning and educating them to do good but he did have some fights in some episodes:
Spirit of The Swamp- Fought couple of Arcane's un-men
The Legend Of Swamp Maiden - Fought an evil seductive female Swamp Thing.
The Shipment - Fought a big thug.
The Watchers - He took on human looking androids created by Arcane.
Hide in the Night - He fought a monstrous Arcane.
The Curse - He fought Arcane who gets powered up by an ancient curse.
In the Beginning - He fought a deadly plant/machine monster that has Arcane's DNA it.
