i don't think he said he put it in barry's ring, as the first time they meet in the altered timeline is near the end right?
I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

If I understood it, Thomas Wayne felt the Reverse Flash somehow placed it there to act as a reminder to Barry of his involvement. I think Thomas was basing it on being something that the Joker would do. It was a very vague, at least to me, but that's what it sounded like. I'm probably wrong though.

There were tons and tons of plot holes in this movie, almost everything that involved the reverse flash didn't make any sense.
