When I first watched this, I was basically seeing it cause I had to. I've seen every marvel movie (not something I'm proud of) so I had to see this one even though I HATED the first one. I was just so confused at what I was watching the first time. I knew nothing about it going in.
So I revisited it recently with the perspective that Neveldine and Taylor made it, and I had a good time. I'm a fan of their work (Crank series) so I had a fun time watching it. Probably cause I knew it wasn't meant to be taken seriously like that god awful first one.

I'm a big fan of Neveldene/Taylor too. Love Crank and Jonah Hex. I didn't even realize that they directed this until after I saw it. But I loved it immediately compared to the first one. I can't understand the hate this gets because it's so badass compared to the original.

Yeah me, too. After reading your post, I started watching this movie with a different perspective. So far it's nothing like the first (and only) time I watched it ~ 5 years ago, lol. I'm enjoying it much better. It's almost like the Crank-version of G.R.
However, I totally disliked Crank 2. I may have to re-watch that one again.
