    Back in the mid-60s Ralph Bakshi worked on a syndicated package of very low budget, very limited animated adaptations of Captain America, Hulk, and Sub-Mariner. One of the things they did was literally cut comic book apart and used the fragments as cell elements and backgrounds.
    The WATCHMEN MOTION COMIC is basically the modern digital descendant of that technique.

      Never saw those you mentioned but I'd love to. Only animated series I remember was Spider-Man '67.
