Changing the characters personalities is unacceptable.

I love all but two of the DC animated movies. I can not get over the fact that they changed the characters personalities, except Batman and Flash.
Superman (the boy scout) - Now curses, fights before talks, and is more interested in a booty call then protecting the world and keeping peace.
Green Lantern - Now is weak, not a leader, and is not funny, but more whinny.
Wonder Woman (serious warrior) - This Wonder Woman is just bad. Talks too much, acts like a spoiled hollywood starlet, and now is obsessed with the power of a man then the character.
In the original Justice League these characters worked well together, because Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman were very business oriented and serious people, and Flash and Green Lantern kept thing light.
The new 52 does not work. Not once in this movie did I care that these characters were fighting together.
And the worse of it all.
Captain Marvel - No longer the naive sweet kid who only thinks of others, this version is a thief, curses, and only thinks about himself. This is a kid that the Wizard Shazam would have never given powers to, but I guess it isn't a problem anymore since Captain Marvel is now Shazam. So does he call to himself for the powers? He also has lightning powers? Did Rayden give him those? Why? -

that's only funny if used in the right context you assface the OP made great points
now i'm not a uber nerd and only know what i'e seen in the toons and what i read off wiki and slowly accumulate my comicbook character knowledge (never read the comics eg. superman etc)
but i took this movie more of a muck around thing and not to be taken seriously, just like the flash paradox. I think it was a different way to see how our favourite superheroes act
i mean in this, superman is very cocky and dangerous, and then cyborg said the word
sh't
, the comic book movie creators [
for ALL comic movies
] are trying to hard to make adult stylised comic movies forgetting (yes the 90's made them too pg 13 eg. batman and robin) heroes are suppose to inspire us and in the end for kids, i mean try explaining the neck stap to kids in MoS, in the end its not just a cgi-fest and action, if you want that go watch a bruce Willis film
in saying that i don't hate it but the wonder women clueless and less professional and poise is kind of annoying. The acting is kind of dull especially when superman is saving the plane says "you're strong" and wonder womens dull response 'i know' is bland at best
p.s the ending credits shows Atlantis is 'pissed off' for killing one of their kind, so im guessing this is like a alternate universe slash rookie characters who are just learning kind of thing. So them being different isn't such a big deal -

Well that is the New 52 for you. You are not alone in your thoughts many fans are horrified at the changes . The thing is the New 52 in my opinion is one of the Darkest incarnations of the comic characters

Ya the New 52 is basically the Ultimate version of DC but unlike Marvel that kept their original universe separate DC went full go with the reboot. Now DC is a convoluted mess that doesn't know what's canon or not canon anymore ,which is funny because this was suppose to streamline DC continuity, and generally making the majority of the characters beep to one another. We all saw what happened to characters like Superman and WW but it has also happened to other characters like fan favorite member of the Teen Titans Starfire. Ya she is basically a sex robot that has no feelings for anyone and pretty much goes around and screws anyone she sees. She doesn't remember any of the other Titans which may or may not be canon anymore see DC is really convoluted. When she meets Roy Harper aka Red Arrow in the comic they are in together the first thing she asks him is if he wants to beep. Isn't that great to see out of a superhero basically a soulless sex robot.

Um.. have you kept up with Red Hood? All of what you just said isn't true anymore about Starfire. They went that way for the first couple of issues until the writers got some backlash from fans. She has a perfect memory of Dick and even had his old uniform. As for other Titans, she didn't have a memory of them because that group never existed in this continuity. That much has been made clear. She also doesn't "screw anyone she sees." She has had a relationship with Roy since almost the beginning of the series.

Oh really they fixed Starfire due to fan backlash that is awesome. To bad the DC editors were perfectly fine with making her into a soulless sex robot in the first place that there even needed to be a fan backlash that speaks about how the editors want DC to be now. Not only things like that though Dan DiDio the co-publisher of DC has basically put a ban on weddings nullifying all but one marriage in DC Animal Man because his wife and family are so integral to his story you can't get rid of them. What is funny with that is no one gave the message to Geoff Johns who was writing Aquaman because he was clearly writing Aquaman and Mera, one of DC longest marriages, as married but now it is official they are not married. It is like Dan DiDio read One More Day from Spider-Man and thought getting rid of marriage was the greatest thing ever.
P.S. I don't buy comics anymore I don't have the money to buy them. Currently I am unemployed and even if I was employed I have more important things to spend my money on but I use to buy tons of comics buying anywhere from 15-20 titles monthly not including events or one shot stories. -

Agree with most but didn't Shazam always have lighting powers?

"Shazam is a comic book character created by Bill Parker and C. C. Beck for Fawcett Comics. He is an ancient wizard (Whiz Comics #2 gives his age as 3,000 years) who gives young Billy Batson the power to transform into the superhero Captain Marvel. Because DC Comics has billed Captain Marvel's adventures under the name Shazam! since 1973, the superhero is often mistakenly referred to by his mentor's name. Because of this, in 2012, DC officially changed Captain Marvel's name to Shazam." - wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shazam_(character)
How do they deleted Shazam (the wizard)?
How do you change the name of a top 50 comic character?
They say they did this because some people that didn't read the comics got confused, but now instead made the fans confused and ultimately angry. -

Yeah your right green lantern is weak moron he throw a train but is knocked back by it colliding with something? Also when trying to figure out what the box thing is it might be a bomb but his first thought is let's smash it!
Wonder woman is spazing out over ice cream and swinging her sword at average people like an idiot.
Cyborg throws a fit because of a football game and decides to pull apart a large glowing generater thing. I thought he was half man half machine, not a sissy.
To be fair the team up boss fight with darkseid. Was pretty cool. It showed how powerful darkseid really is and why the Justice league is really needed to fight battles that none of the members can win on there own.I also liked how big darkseid was in this movie, it made him a lot scarier than he ever was on any of the TV series'.
I was disappointed on how much they nerfed captain marvel.
can you imagine?

Wonder woman is spazing out over ice cream and swinging her sword at average people like an idiot.
I think that was their poor attempt to characterize her like Thor, but instead of humorous (i.e. where Thor asks for another drink and smashes the cup on the ground) it was overdone. -

Havent seen War yetbut curious what were the 2 movies you didnt love.
Im going to guess Gotham Knight of coursewhat was the other one? First Flight?
The only 3 I disliked were Gotham Knight, Green Lantern First Flight and Superman Unbound. -
solphins — 12 years ago(January 31, 2014 10:27 AM)
Actually, I liked First Flight and I don't include Gotham Knight or Emerald Knights in the DC movie group for some reason.
The two I didn't like were Justice League New Frontier and All Star Superman.
JLA: War will fall into a new group of "Knock off JLA"
