Parker has always held a conversation with himself in the comics on a fairly steady basis. It's not a stretch to think that maybe he's just being overly eccentric and perceiving himself as his own audience. I think it kinda suits him.

I don't mind the fourth wall stuff so much - someone else posted that this is basically the internal dialogue that he has with himself that is kinda his trademark. The wise-cracking goes on out loud and in his head, and that's fine.
What I can't stand is the chibi-stuff that they do with the cutaways. It's a Japanese style of having chubby caricatures of what's going on representing the light side, but it's overdone in this case and annoying. Teen Titans did it constantly, and I feel that took away from the story. Bleach does it too, and it's really annoying.
It's almost like they dip into Super Hero Squad every time Spider-man thinks a thought. Ugh. -

The haters of Deadpool probably never even read a Deadpool comicsaying all that about his breaking the fourth wall
just like other comic characters out there, there are different Deadpool writers and most have utilized the fourth wall to a certain extent. some writers use it in clever, storytelling ways while others use it for a more comic relief. both are acceptable and fun to a reader such as me
while others have come before Deadpool in breaking the fourth wall, none have been as extensive as Deadpoolbut there are plenty of Deadpool comics in which he doesn't break the fourth wall
the haters of Deadpool are most often the people who only see the character from an outside view and have never really read any of his comicsgo read the first two miniseries or even the Cable & Deadpool series. He breaks the fourth wall but not as much as you think (like the Ultimate Deadpool episode) and it is not distracting but actually fun. -

I quit watching this show from Netflix after the 5th episode of Season 1 because of the breaking Fourth wall moments. I hate that! Spider-Man can joke all he wants but don't have him taking us out of a fight and doing something cartoonish like turning himself into a toaster! I can't belive Marvel okayed this stupid show! And they'd rather release all the seasons of this than to release all the seasons of the 90s cartoon!
Green Goblin is great!
