3.02 Million Viewers.
Yikes.
And this is after
heavy
promotions for the past several weeks
and
the addition of Superman.
It premiered lower than Flash.
Network Premieres generally rate vastly higher than the rest of the series, due to the heavy promotion.
What this suggests is that the show is headed towards a massive drop-off moving forward.
It also looks like it's much larger CBS audience decided
not
to stick around. -

The OP is a total moron. This is CW's Best monday in 8 years!
Oh and newsflash Flash
does not have to compete with TBBT, Stronger Voice, DWTS and here comes the big one monday night football. Its a reason CW has a hard time getting good ratings on monday because its INSANE competition compared to tuesday -

Wow. My favorite little pansy got triggered again.
It doesn't matter if this was CW's best.
Just like Amell said,
anyone
can be trained to watch a premiere, with all the heavy marketing put in.
What makes or breaks the show is who sticks around during the subsequent weeks.
3.02 M shows that the CBS audience didn't stick around, and that next week's ratings will likely fall into the 2 million range.
I anticipate the ratings matching Legends and Arrows. Definitely not on par with Flash. -

I disagree Knightfall,
I think it's going to trend upwards. The fact that it was the second most downloaded show on Torrents last night seems to indicate that. It's possible that it's base is quite healthy overall and their just looking for ways to watch it. I expect it to do as well as the flash. -

Let's wait and see.
I'm noticing generally the premiere ratings are the glass ceiling, and it's downwards from there.
The CW Supergirl premiere had massive promotions. It really should have done better than 3 Million.
The Flash pilot had nearly 5 Million viewers for the CW, and this was after the pilot already leaked, and it received the same amount of promotions.
Supergirl also had a massive audience on CBS, but it looks like barely any of them decided to keep watching on The CW. -

Supergirl premiere had 12 million so come again you pathetic troll.
Flash also has no competition compared to Supergirl which faces Monday night Football, Voice, DWTS, TBBT, Kevin can wait, Gotham, baseball
So try again when Flash has to face all that as well. -

What the hell are you talking about, kid, SG premiered to 3.02 million on the CW, look it up. Which means nothing, as total viewers is not ratings. It scored a 1.1. Let's see what happens when the stunting is done.

We all kind of know that already. That's why CBS aired it Mondays, and why the CW is keeping it there. Both were weak on Mondays. It's really hard to say how well it might of done on another night.. The flash never had to worry about that but now that it is established.. it really doesn't matter. -

Duh. It's common knowledge to anyone who actually studies ratings and keeps up with ratings sites that shows generally premiere at their highest (though a few shows peak later in their first season) and decline from year to year thereafter. It's rare for them to change that pattern and improve from year to year or significantly from their premiere. But even if Supergirl declines to, say, a 0.9, it's still a great rating on a network where last season's number 2 show just premiered to a 0.7. The probability that it will decline to a dangerous rating very soon (like below 0.6) is pretty low.
Yeah, Supergirl had a first season on CBS, but moving to the CW makes it, to all intents and purposes, a new show in its second season. It could easily have tanked, hype or not. Plus, its move to Vancouver means its budget is a lot more efficient now.

The switch over could explain a lot.. Some follow TV and how everything works but many do not. Your right though have to play the wait and see game for now. I figure we all should have a pretty good idea where this is going to sit in the CW rating within the next 3 weeks. -

It was never going to match its lowest CBS numbers, that was a given. When a show makes a drastic change like jumping to another network, only loyal viewers will follow (not the people like my grandma who only watched the show because she just likes to watch whatever is on CBS each night).
However, I'd say by CW standards (which are lower than the other networks) a 1.1 is very successful. It will more than likely go down as the season goes on, but I doubt it will ever reach the sinking depths of 0.3 or 0.1 like some of the current CW shows. -

It doesn't matter how badly this show does. It's there just for the crossovers and for the nerd-bois to get their panties wet for.
It'll never get cancelled as long as it promotes it's own agenda thanks to that GAF berlanti.

OP there was too much going on last night on tv
MLB playoffs
MNF
DWTS etc
Even BBT like somebody mentioned
I think a lot of people who don't follow the CW on a regular basis probably didn't even realize SG premiered
It doesn't surprise me the ratings were a little low
People will know now because the CW app
