If she was going 8-9 constantly, half the city would be rubble. Now her powers are taxed by a falling shelf. Can't wait until they make Ghost Rider fizzle out and smoulder due to a crisis of faith, or something equally ridiculous.
Then they could have Tony Stark's arc reactor fail, and force him to use wind power to charge his batteries so he can fly to the end of his driveway and pick up his mail once a week. -

If she's not giving herself time to heal and still constantly going all out she would be getting weaker though. Thinking of power like a muscle that's being overworked its easy to see how a falling bookshelf after weeks maybe months of overuse would become an issue.
Also that was just one possibility I do think the more likely possibility is that she's directing some of her powers inward and hurting herself like the first time she tried controlling
