    This is the common misrepresentation I see all the time on this subject. I hope I'm wrong, but I smell a piling steam of sh!t as the worst case scenario or a mediocre sequel as the most likely one.
    Unless Tim Miller was a totally neutered director, then you can't say Reynolds is the reason Deadpool was what it was. He can only control his acting and his performance. He can influence decisions that were made but how much creative control did he have?
    So let's look at the only thing that changed since Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds got a ridiculous amount of power. If he already controlled the first one, why did he renegotiate for even more control? Were there decisions that weren't made in the first film that he thought should have been? And vice versa?
    There were reports that Miller wasn't happy about how long the negotiations went. His leaving is more likely about how much power Reynolds has over the creative process. And no respectable director is going to step into that situation.

      Ryan Reynolds is a big fan of the character and has a lot of creative control over both films, so I think we're still in good hands
