I appreciate them both and I feel they have both gotten better as they have gotten older. However, I would give Al Pacino the edge. In particular I thought he was fantastic in Donnie Brasco and Phil Spector.

I became a real fan after watching The Devil's Advocate.
What I enjoy about Pacino is that he doesn't allow himself to become a caricature of his image tge way DeNiro does. DeNiro has certain mannerisms that do not allow me to fully believe he is that character. It is alway Bobby DeNiro there except for like his early career with Raging Bull, The Godfather and Cape Fear.

This is a good point, similar to Jack Nicholson or Sean Connery where it can be hard to separate the character from the actor (especially Sean Connery where he doesn't even try to change his accent). -

Scent Of A Woman was way better than The Devil's Advocate.
Donnie Brasco and Phil Spector were better than both Scent Of A Woman and The Devil's Advocate.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but these are facts.
