I actually like him better that way, it's better to see him go into angry mode than all the time being an idiot who can't take anything serious.

It was nice to see, and it was really understandable, his reaction. But, I think it started to get a bit repetitive, yeah? It feels like they ran the same plot with his character twice this season.
