    Free will. Like he says in the film, he's not crazy. What he is though, is free. No pathology. He's this, then he's that. Even G-d has pathology, but not the Joker. You'll notice there aren't any Joker's walking around in the real world. What does that tell you? It's too bad Nolan cheated with the ending, the Joker was right in his assessment as he was right all throughout with every opinion he gave. Still a very good film though.

      I don't get the impression that the Joker is free from pathology. It seems more like he uses his pathology - and suppresses it - but that it peeks through, occasionally.
