FBI warns of shootings threats for the opening weekend of Joker

They have issued a warning that actual threats were made online.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security are warning law enforcement ahead of the opening weekend of the movie "Joker" after a number of threats were posted online calling for mass shootings at showings of the movie.
The US Military has also issued a warning.

The U.S. military has warned service members about the potential for a mass shooter at screenings of the Warner Bros. film Joker, which has sparked wide concerns from, among others, the families of those killed during the 2012 mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
No "specific or credible threats" to secific locations have been made. This is a general warning from the FBI saying it could happen anywhere. This is probably the first time the FBI had to issue a safety warning about a movie release. -
