    He had an amazing run, character actors always last longer, but like Charles Lane he ran the gamut from the Golden Age of Hollywood to TV and films to 1990.

      Yes, Mr. Wolfe was a superb actor. I always enjoyed him as one of the semi-regulars in the great Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes films of the 1940s and also on such later television hit shows as "Star Trek" and "Hawaii, 5-0."

        He is even in Johnny Belinda which I am watching now. Always a stand out, even in small roles.
