Just got done watching this on HBO
Here are the details that make no sense in a movie that is nothing but nonsense.
Figures, right?
In no order.
No ****ing way would the pres. be in the Oval Office with soldiers coming in.
He would be in the bunker or more likely in the air on AF1 when intel would tell him how close the enemy soldiers were getting close to knocking on the door.
The SS would have body armor and military rifles and the WH would have been surrounded shoulder to shoulder with tanks with air support.
The soldiers with the mass grave.
Why did Hong Kong and Jessie switch cars while moving?
Because there is not enough in the budget for another action scene with a battle.
Instead we will have them stop later on with three soldiers putting dead civilians into a mass grave just because they can do that.
How did they stop the first SUV with Jessie and the second Chinese reporter?
The driver was a, "maniac," fast driver who could have sped by two guys with rifles.
Who were those guys and which side were they fighting for?
Same thing with the snipers on the house.
So random ppl who are not on either side just happen to have military camo and guns are now shooting at each other.
And when they are at that property, which has a leftover Christmas display, there is a bubble machine.
How nice of the soldiers to keep it filled with soap for anyone who happens to come by to check it out.
(I will give one credit to that scene for the anti woke use of the word, "retarded." How nice to hear that word as an insult in a movie again even though it is a retarded movie!)
A film camera?
Really?
In this day and age?
No.
This took place in the 80's or 90's.
Not in the near future.
The two girl photogs.
Paraphrased dialog.
"So tell me about yourself and what got you into being a photog."
"Wikipedia got it wrong."
"Oh hey. Wanna see my negatives?"
Either Kirsten is just really bad at improv. a back story or the writer is really bad at coming up with one.
I'm going with the second option.
WTF is a fat old man doing as a war correspondent?
Should be someone younger and more agile to dodge bullets etc.
I take it the president is the bad guy since he ends up getting killed.
What did he do to start the thing?
Kick a dog and steal candy from a child?
Well, they never say so that is what I have to go with.
Why is there a highway filled with abandoned cars?
Because it is mandatory in every tragic, dystopian movie to have at least one CGI scene of this even if it makes no ****ing sense to have them there.
If I can remember anything else from this retarded movie, that needs to be blown up as if it was in a war, I'll be sure to post it.

Thanx.
The number one stupid thing for me is for this to happen at all again.
There would have to be enough military brass to say, "FU" to the constitution and/or the president as their CIC to strategize and lead troops into battle and I just don't see that happening.

Agreed.
I shared what I think would have made it a better movie by showing the motivation and build up to it with backstories of the reporters and a couple soldiers from each side.
Something to draw us in to care about the characters.
If you don't agree with that then do you have any ideas that would have made it better?

Thank you.
I also would have made it more believable with the states who were allies with each other for their reasons.
Cal teams up with Texas?
WTF?
LOL

I am going to buy it and that will help me remember.
And then I am going to remember how bad those scenes are then come back here and create a new post with those same thoughts.

Yeah, and when friends come over they will think it is a movie about the first or real American one.
It will be a great prank when I put it in, start it up and see the "WTF is this crap!?" looks on their faces!

Join a Civil War (the actual war) discussion group and invite the group members over for what they'll think is an in-depth Civil War documentary. If you make popcorn first, they'll at least stay until they finish eating the popcorn.
