This is one great film.
Great actors, Dern, Gosset, Woods, Heather Graham & Platt.
Good, original storeyline, funny, good pace, full of action, good boxing, you couldn't ask for anymore from this film.
But nobody i know has ever saw it!!!
I've got it on DVD, and without fail everytime i lend it out i get it back and they've loved it, or shown it to someone else.
Am i single handedly getting this film viewed? I think so!!!
But on the otherhand i like the fact its not a well known film, and it hasnt got a big following, it makes it a little bit more special.
All i can say is this film when released suffered from poor promotion, and if it spend a few more million on promotion it would have made it as a truely great film everybody loves. -

I agree. This is one film I recommend to others and almost everyone seems to like it. This is a very underrated movie and one of my personal favorites, and in my opinion, James Woods's best work.
The truth is like sunlight. People used to think it's good for you. -

I first caught this a few years ago with my female roommate, who incidentally hates boxing movies and isn't a fan of boxing in general, on cable. It was a rainy Saturday in the summer and we couldn't go in the pool so we caught this.
Not only did we laugh our butts off, but we couldn't believe that it was nine years old and we had never heard of it.
Suffice to say that every time it is on now, I make sure to tune in. In fact, it just ended!
Anyway, I agree that it is very good, underrated, and I reccomend it to anyone. -

If you like Woods I would also recommend "The Hard Way" (not a great film but he and Michal J. Fox seem to be having a good time) and "John Carpenter's Vampires", Woods just rocked that role as the bad ass church sanctioned vamp killer.
