Did you like it?
I just watched it. It looks great for a nearly 90-year old film, i.e., well-preserved. Plus, it had good production qualities. I thought the plot was good, but it felt a bit watered down due to the gore & violence factor being kept to a "tasteful" minimum, as well as the comedic relief element which was sprinkled throughout. Maybe in the time period this was made, it was against the Hays Code to make things too scary?
I was quite surprised to discover that Valerie Hobson, the actress who played Wilfred Glendon's wife, was only 17 years old at the time. Henry Hull (Glendon) was 27 years her senior. IRL, Hobson's second husband was John Profumo, a British government minister who became the subject of the sensational Profumo Affair sex scandal in 1963.

Given when the film was made, I agree. As a lover of classic films, this one was a good watch.
Dang Hays Code. First it's blood, then it's Jane Russell's bosom.
