Read Ann Coulters story on this. She proves they were guilty.

I read the article..it proves nothing..it is just the typical right wing tripe she usually dishes out.
There was no DNA match on the victim or the boys.she made it up.
All she has is hearsay by one crazy inmate.
That is supposed to prove they are guilty? Nice try.
The right wing stance is on this is that the boys were involved in vandalism, and scaring people in the parkso they deserve to be punished.and who cares for what crime? The boys were scum in their eyes. It just isn't that simple.
They are certainly involved in vandalism, and scaring and possibly assaulting bicyclists and people walking through the park.but that is quite a different crime than rape and attempted murder. I don't believe the boys were angels and I believe they deserved some sort of punishment.
The police feeling pressure to solve the crime railroaded the boys into taking the fall for a much more serious crime. The police are usually a good thingI am not anti-policebut sometimes they mess uppolice are human and have failings like the rest of us. When they dothey should be called on it. That is point of the movie.
If you were one of the accused or one of your sons was involved in this.you'd want justice. When I was a teenager me and my buddies would knock over people's mailboxes on Saturday night (which is an awful thing we now regret).but we weren't rapist and murderers and we all grew up to be professionals.
Punishing people for a serious crime they did not commit is not justice and it is not the American way that I was taught growing up. -

"Vandalism"? "Scaring" people?
Between 105th and 102nd Streets they attacked several bicyclists, hurled rocks at a cab, and attacked a man who was walking, whom they knocked to the ground, assaulted, robbed, and left unconscious. A schoolteacher out for a run was severely beaten and kicked between 9:40 and 9:50. Then, at the 97th Street Transverse at the northwest end of the Central Park Reservoir running track, at about 10 pm, they attacked another jogger, hitting him in the back of the head with a pipe and stick. They pummeled two men into unconsciousness, hitting them with a metal pipe, stones, and punches, and kicking them in the head. A police officer testified that one male jogger, who said he had been jumped by four or five black youths, was bleeding so badly he "looked like he was dunked in a bucket of blood" -

There were teens in the park doing those crimes but the boys who were arrested weren't involved in the violence
They saw it happen
