As with all of del Toro’s works, they are really visually great to watch. Jacob Elordi was really good as the creature, and Oscar Isaac was passable as Victor Frankenstein. Couldn’t stand Mia Goth as Elizabeth. Woefully miscast. It did have many components of Shelley’s novel, but lacked character development of some characters (Elizabeth, Harlander). It also went on way too long. And the CGI was on the amateur level. A generous 7/10, mostly for visuals and mood.
I was recommended to watch Weapons. Anyone see that yet?
If you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating.
