very different and interesting movie, i enjoyed how it wasnt a typical horror film or love story, it does leave u to wonder exactly who and what the different spirits or ghosts were but i was ok with that

It was neither dramatic nor romantic nor frightening. The only claim it fulfilled was that it was, indeed, a movie.
Interesting premise but UTTERLY unexploited for any of its potential. Mira Sorvino was completely wasted, as was the premise.
It goes to the failures of the screenwriter, in good measure, since the film was structured from the POV of the ghost, as if the protagonist. But the fault lays primarily at the feet of the director, who didn't stage a single frightening scene. The scariest moment of the movie was when the first bird hit the outhouse, some 15 minutes into the movie and there wasn't another single fright.
Good acting, nice cinematography and score, but these are the very least one expects in a film. -

I totally dug this movie's novel and understated way of telling a ghost story. Moreover, I give this film further praise for putting more of an emphasis on a quietly brooding gloomy-doomy ooga-booga atmosphere over the usual gore and cheap scares.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
