I was thinking back to the Dracula film starring Gary Oldman and as I continued to do so I realised that it is all mixed up but in a coherent way. I wondered if Dracula was the Beast that was on top of Lucy, or whether it was a separate character that appeared there because of Dracula's presence. Dracula is infatuated with Mina, yet he has sex with Lucy and later kills her. Mina is learning about 'Dracula' and knows of 'his' deeds throughout the film, but nearing the end she calls out to him wishing him well and God speed as he tears along the mountain in his horse and cart. In one lengthy sequence time is also mixed up as that beast comes near some caged animals, invisible yet they can sense him. Of all the Dracula films I think that this is a unique one.
I think it was Part 3 of The Godfather trilogy that was on television a couple of days ago. As I listened to the rhetorics I thought of the Bible passage that says "I will make as foolishness the wisdom of the wise, the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Yet I was intrigued by the story. I don't know if Catholics have this passage in their Bibles.
