Question about Dresser.

When Dresser finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant, he ends up in the hallway talking to Eddie and Duck. He started telling them about how he couldn't support a child with the money he was making from the group, and that Big Red had gave him a number to 'stock' woman(hope I heard that correctly). Were they trying to imply that Dresser was going to cheat on his girlfriend, because Eddie mentions something afterwards along the lines of "Didn't you just say you love her more than anything in the world?" Could someone help me out with that scene? Thanks.

Big Red was referring him to a woman that performed abortions. So Dresser and his girlfriend gets marry and have the baby.

Oh okay, I see. I always wondered who and what was the reasoning for Big Red giving Dresser the number he did. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
