He didn't treat Stone with that disrespect, and he's clearly black too. I got the impression that he just was treating Pookie and Scotty like that to troll them. He probably dealt with types like Scotty and Pookie but were assholes to him. So he got tired of them. He didn't come off like a hardcore true Allied Nordicist Yankee
    Friends
-watching "bro"-hating anti-Hispanic racist. The way those Spaniard mobsters were. Yes "Italeols" cause all the "Italians" in that movie were really descendants of Spaniards. There are "Nuyoricans" like that. Spaniards were generally pure assholes throughout history, and yes they're white with Penelope Cruz English accents. Although I do think some dumb Tribune-loving soon-to-be
    Friends
/The WB(and no, The WB was not Warner Bros.ish and was so far removed [and it was so unpopular compared to UPN in all 11 years concurrent with them], like an attempt to remake WB in their own image, and UPN had more in common with Warner Bros., and I'm reviving UPN and creating WB, a true Warner Bros. network, and yes UPN and Warner Bros. are both black anyway)-lover did kinda make it stupid (cause we know execs like to interfere with filmmaking a lot). They had them saying "spicaroos" as though Spaniards are Hispanic with Latin English accents, and no one with Spaniard ancestry says "mouleyan" and the only reason one would even suggest that is to suggest that Spaniards, on their own, can't be white, or that if they are white, there's some Roman, when Spaniards are CLEARLY Germanic peoples.
With Nick I excuse it, as during times of migration Germanics adopted into cultures they sometimes settled with, rather than be conquerers. There were Visigoths who became Nuyoricans through adoptions, same goes for Ostrogoths becoming Italians. So I don't jump to conclusions, but with
    Rocky
    and
    Sopranos
, the idiocy is pure and simple. Indigenous, true, pure, straight-from-the-mill Nuyoricans (
    Rocky
    ) and Italians (
    Sopranos
) are white with Penelope Cruz English accents, which is just purely dumb. And true indigenous (and I don't mean the indigenous in the sense of the natives native to Spain, I mean indigenous referring to indigneous -ez-surnamed people) Spaniards, to both, are non-white, Hispanic, with Latin English accents, which is downright stupid. Oh, and Spaniards also don't believe in tango dancing. I believe that's very exagerrated to say the least, and it's Nuyoricans, like their Italian bretheren who do that strong ghetto suave type dancing. Tango is more Nuyorican. The flamenco guitar is just generic white Spaniard music just like Swedish mountain guitar and American country Tom Coltrane type guitar.
Anyways, Nick came off as a troll. He even befriends Scotty, and comes to his senses about Pookie, but even when he was being that way, he didn't strike me as a true racist. It came off as though (1) "I hate everyone, equally", (2) he's from New York so he's just not PC (that's a far cry from being racist though), (3) "Don't take it personally, buddy." I know the movie wanted to make him out to be a racist asshole but I've seen true racists. He just seems like a harmless rock/metalhead drug-using rebel who truly wouldn't hurt or abuse someone else for being a different race from him. He was just trolling them for the most part. You can make a case for that asshole cop in the precinct scene being more of a racist, and it doesn't matter that they had a black captain. This is Yankeedom, so they have a history of being outright hateful and racist, way more the South, to say the least. And Dixie is not white or white supremacist.
