I don’t know how hard that stuff is. But you should consider renting a splitter for the day. That’s what I did, but I had Oak. It was worth it. It will take you a very long time to split it the old fashioned way, using a maul, or wedges and a sledge hammer.
Do you have a wood stove or a fireplace? Wood stoves are more efficient, but frankly, they’re a pain in the ass.

He probably already has a splitter,DF us such a heavy smoker,he probably wheezes after a few chops with an age.

In an earlier post, he said he doesn’t have a splitter. But when you process the amount of firewood that he does annually, it would be a good investment.
