Do you mean once someone has opened their present or like the rest of the roll of paper?
I save the roll if it's a nice paper lol otherwise i'd throw it away and get new the following year.

BUT I don't have to buy any for a while because my dad brought me a **** ton of paper from work, and gift bags so they just go into storage until christmas comes around again.

Yes, large pieces in good shape.
And not just the paper from everything we unwrap in my house, also the bows, ribbons and even gift tags.
