        in deciding cases, the conservative supreme court justices rely on a theory known as 'original intent" or "originalism", where the present day justices look at dictionaries and word/phrase usages from the time the constitution and subsequent amendments written/ratified.
        to my knowledge, the phrases "domestic abuse" and "domestic abuser" did not exist when the second amendment written and passed into law. so i fail to see how the 5 conservatives voted against the right to own/use a gun, since their method of interpretation could not produce that result, if the justices were consistent and faithful to their method.
