What is the best camera I can get on eBay, used, for 100 bucks or less. I want to shoot some short films. Any advice is great, thanks.

Do you have an iPhone or similar phone with a decent video camera on it? If so, that will be much better than anything you can find for under $100.

Galaxy s5. I may start with that, but I hope to upgrade.

The camera on the S5 is great! Seriously, though, if you were to spend the dough on a cheap camera from eBay you probably wouldn't be happy with the image. There are myriad free or cheap apps on the Google Play store that will also allow you to stylize your video, whereas you're stuck with the home video look if you were to use an entry level camcorder.

There's something called magiclantern.fm for Canon EOS cameras that unlocks some cool movie camera features. Try local pawnshops and ads Might be cheaper than ebay.

Unless you're just shooting drunk friends hurting themselves, you'll want something that accepts external microphones. Also, replaceable recording media.
