    Sleeping tablets don’t work these days
    I’d love to be able to go offline for a week give myself a break tbh

            Are you taking prescription sleeping tablets or over-the-counter sleeping tablets to help you sleep? Try some chamomile tea or valerian root.
            Just take a break from this website. Don't log in for one week and you'll feel much better. Check back in later. No one's going anywhere.

              FWIW, and I'm not dissing you for trying to provide some helpful advice, but chamomile and valerian root may not always be the best choice for everybody. I've used those in the past and had extremely bad dream activity (nightmarish, even) on account of them. Oh, and the same holds true with another natural sleep aid: melatonin. I won't touch that stuff with a barge pole now, thanks to my past experience with it.
              One thing that has helped me is a Cal-Mag supplement (Calcium-Magnesium). That seems to help without inducing crazy-assed dreams or nightmares in the process. But "your mileage may vary" is a useful caveat here.

                My S.O. swore off melatonin years ago because she thought it caused bad dreams a few times. I told her it was probably just making her sleep more deeply, which is the definition of 'good sleep.'
                I take 10mg of melatonin before bed and once in awhile I have a dream about a frustrating situation like getting lost driving somewhere, but never what I would consider a 'bad' dream. I also take a couple of benadryl tabs with it.
                Her doctor encouraged her to try it again because she was having problems sleeping, she did, and now she uses it every night.

                  Wow, I've never heard of anyone having bad reactions to those.
                  I've had weird reactions to melatonin.
                  Magnesium is great because it works as a muscle relaxer and helps with anxiety. I have a powder kind that mixes with hot water and you sip it like a tea.
