Problem with Samsung phone

I have a Samsung Stardust Galaxy. (It's a smarphone through tracfone)
No matter what I do, I can't seem to change the Message Alert tone. I go Contacts < Message alert, and then make the change. When I go back out, it does show the change for each contact after I save it, but it goes back to the default tone for all contacts when I get a text.
I tried to do it from the main Settings knowing that would change it for all contacts, but even then, it defaults to the original tone when I recieve a text.
Any help would be appreciated.

try going to contacts scroll to the contact you want to set sound for click edit then scroll to notification tone click that search fr tone click on that then hit back then save. it should work now
