            Elwood's hot plate and coat hanger (IIRC) version in Blues Brothers was not as elegant, but did the job just as well.

                      I've actually got one similar the one on the right. Got it at a flea market years ago, and still works great.

                        Nice! I love going to flea markets and thrift stores. I once found an old GE electric percolator from the '60s which I still use pretty regularly, and sometimes I'll then put it in a massive thermos made in West Germany, so who knows how old it is.
                        Of course, most of my vintage electronics originated either from flea markets or from garage sales.
