both chavez and maduro garbage and bad for their country and bad for the region. that said, i consider Trump's actions absolutely unjustified.unconstitutional? the C clearly uses the word " war" and declaration thereof by congress; and from Jefferson on the president has sent us forces into foreign areas, but short of " war".
but since trump is a congenital liar along with his cabinet, nothing he or they say about this ought to have any truth life.
the fact that Trump said he's open to dealing with Maduro's regime just not maduro, is a real slap and ball-kick to the opposition, which faced real violence from Maduro.
let's see how far Russia will push this: security council condemnation? -

I wasnt for it either for my own reasons. But it clearly was legal. This wasnt War.
So Congress approval clearly NOT needed.

Maduro was not exactly a good guy.
I have come across two articles which show how his brutal forces would capture, torture and even murder any opposition to him and the results of his last election do not look legit.
Even The Carter Center questions it.
While I disagree with the method used to take him away, I think the only voices that matter are those of the Ven. people and what happens now.
We will have to see if this will be better or still worse for them but I suspect the latter because history favors the rich and powerful while they keep and oppress the lower and smaller classes under their thumbs.
