I'm considering getting a new tv. I heard horror stories in the past about Samsung tv's "not playing nice" with Sony peripherals. Like the Sony PS whatever won't work on a Samsung display or a Sony Bluray player won't play either. Is there any truth to this tale or is it just fanboy banter?

I once had a Sony TV who acted rather strange due to Cinavia, not kidding.
When i tried to watch Avatar, which is the first Blu-ray suspected to contain Cinavia, i had to pause the movie just right after the movie studios logo and the press Play again.
If i forgot this, the screen remained black on the TV and then i had to eject the disc, switch off the TV and then on again and load the original disc once again to watch the movie.
Strangest thing, it was the only Blu-ray i had this issue with.
TV eventually replaced with a Panasonic instead, never had any issues there.
