I bought my dad an LG 4K player at Target for Christmas, the day before Christmas Eve.
I go over his house to hook it up for him, and inside the box, is a heavily used Samsung dvd player, all scratched up.
What this means is that someone before me returned it like this, and re-taped the box. And Target didn't catch it. Smooth.
At this point I lost the receipt. But I go to Target anyway to exchange it. Explain the situation.
I made sure to open the box there, in front of them, to verify that it was the item on the packaging. I didn't want to have to come back a 2nd time and it not be the product - then it'd look suspicious on my part.
First time anything like that has ever happened.
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane
By those who could not hear the music.

Perhaps you bought a refurbished dvd player…those are commonly sold and you can get them much cheaper.
It doesn't necessarily mean you bought a dud…refurbished electronics tend to be stuff that had minor defects and were fixed before being resold.
Sometimes they are just products used in the store for show or demonstration…then re-boxed and put up for sale…or may have minor scratches on them but were checked for any problems beforehand.
Most stores have those items marked as refurbished though.
        Are you okay?

No..you misunderstood. I bought an LG 4K player.
When I opened the box, it was a Samsung DVD Player.
I paid for a 4K, I got a dvd player. Totally different brand.
The only explanation is someone before me returned the item, and put their old dvd player in the box, and got their money back. Shame Shame Shame.

By those who could not hear the music.

OIC…did you get a replacement or a refund?
