If you haven't already checked it out, the first of James Ransone's work I'd recommend is the HBO 7-episode mini-series
Generation Kill
. Based on the accounts published by a Rolling Stone writer who was embedded with US soldiers in Iraq back in 2003 (I think that's the year), it's another brilliant pulls-no-punches drama about yet another gritty and grim part of life by David Simon (The Wire). Has a ton of soldier eye candy (actually, I think they were marines I forget, feels like it's been a decade since that aired), played by some of the hottest "it" guys (Alexander Sarsgaard, for starters) and Lee Tergesen from the prison drama Oz. James Ransone is the most entertaining of the bunch, though. His performance is electric. He's a livewire of a little dude, for sure. And cute-as-fvck in it.
