You had a cool heist scene, then we met Mike Doug who was awesome as always, Famke Janssen played his hot wife, Oliver Platt pops up - he’s a 28%er, the kidnapping and Doug’s reaction was great, Brittany Murphy did a good job as the nutter, great pacing.
It was all looking so good.
…then it just turns to ****.
It’s gradual. You're still intrigued by the concept and the tension of the ticking clock - find a number buried in a mental girl’s brain or we kill your daughter - but around half way you start losing interest. We should be watching some intense therapy sessions - think Silence Of The Lambs or Good Will Hunting - but instead we’re watching some subplot about a female cop.
More and more things stop making sense, and then we reach the finale in which this psychological thriller becomes a rote action film. By the time

dies, again, your eyes have rolled so far back you’re staring at your own brain.
Ironically it’s doing well on Netflix because it’s way better than most of the dreck that comes out now. How depressing is that?
