Usually I watch a movie then (for an amusement) read reviews about it
here. This time for some reason it was vice versa. Now after getting
all local bashing I began to watch it. Wow! That was a real surprise!
Humor, pursuits, some clever episodes, and very high "carcount". I
think the budget was unusually big for an Italian film. I thoroughly
    enjoyed it.
I do not understand all that bad-mouthing. My vote is 9/10 without
    compromises.
If you are in action films of 60-70s this production is a must.

I saw this when it came out and have never felt like seeing it again. Reading all the negative reviews here reminds me of how I felt when I saw it.

Much better than I expected. Once you get past the unusual casting choice of Roger Moore as a Mafioso's Anglo-Sicilian lawyer (not easy to do, since Moore in 1976 was at or near the height of his James Bond fame at the time), it becomes an engaging crime-action flick. Good cinematography, with nice use of location shooting in San Francisco, Sausalito, and Campania (Italy). Ample car chases - one of which is cleverly played as a parody of the famous car chase in
        Bullitt
(1968)… it definitely had me LOLing. Stacy Keach rounds things out as Moore's rather goofy sidekick, providing ample comic relief throughout. Moore's character also fires off plenty of dry quips quite reminiscent of the little zingers he routinely dropped in his Bond movies. It's a bit of a walk down memory lane, too: now 50 years old, you'll get a kick out of the cars, the clothes, the technology (or lack thereof… e.g., Roger Moore dialing a rotary telephone!). See it if you want something a little different.
