    Just for a laugh, could you come up with a plot synopsis for Highlander 2 that would have potentially have been epic and kept the honour of the first film and not ruin it?
    Highlander II: The Quickening could have been the following;
    In 1990s New York, Connor MacLeod senses a cosmic disturbance: the ancient Gathering—meant to end with "There can be only one"—has been corrupted by Kurgan-like shadows from the immortals' primordial past, shadowy entities born before time who feed on Quickening energy without beheading. Haunted by Ramirez's spirit (via mystical visions), Connor teams with a new ally, a fierce female immortal from feudal Japan skilled in katana and shadows, to hunt these preternatural foes across frozen Scottish highlands and storm-lashed ancient ruins.
    Climactic Honor
    Battles escalate with raw, grounded sword duels enhanced by lightning Quickening storms, no sci-fi shields or corporations—just pure, honorable immortal code. The finale pits Connor against the ultimate shadow lord in a thunderous cathedral clash, restoring the Prize's true power: not world domination, but eternal guardianship of humanity's hidden history. Queen rocks the soundtrack harder, Connery returns fully armored, and it ends with Connor vanishing into legend, franchise intact.
    This keeps the first film's gritty fantasy soul alive while ramping up the stakes epic-style.

    I wish AI existed in 1991…
