Anyone remember this game from back in the day? I seem to remember thinking the story was OK, but absolutely loving the multiplayer assault mode with my little brother.
With all the remakes that have been coming out I'd definitely pick this one up if it came out. I mean they could really go to town with the multiplayer mode in this day and age, up the number of players, increase the map size and bolt on online functionality.

Me too. I don't remember much of the story but I remember the cool weapons and the multiplayer mode was awesome, I used to play it against the AI all the time, which put you against Sky Captain who came back stronger every time you kill him. Had some real intense games on that.
"Hello? I just shot somebody, I did it on purpose!"

Ah when you said "Sky Captain" I just had a brilliant flashback of his voice saying "SKY CAPTAIN is here" and "Where are you????".
        Thanks for that 🙂
Yeah it was a great game. I'm really drawing a blank on what the story actually was, I may have to get it for my psx emulator on my phone and have a little play.

There's not much of a story per se (bust a load of bad guys in a single day, in a variety of futuristic LA locations), but that was the mode I played the most, actually, and really enjoyed it.
I was always quite hopeless at RTS games, so I would usually start embarrassing myself in Precinct Assault as it got to the higher levels.
Shut it, Love Actually! Do you want me to hole punch your face?

I love it, it's on my list of games to write about for this column:
            http://www.thatsnotcurrent.com/arcane-arcades-retro-game-of-the-week-b-movie-1998/
Having just done a PSX game it might be a while before it comes up in the cycle though.
The assault mode is one of the few Real Time strategy games I've ever enjoyed.
I can't think about Future Cop without also recalling G-Police, Einhander, and Colony Wars - Gen 5 was great time for sci-fi games

Havent played on Einhander or Colony wars, but I was a big fan of G-Police back in the day. You are right that sci-fi genre is severally lacking these days. Well in fact anything apart for FPS games is to be honest.
Oh and by the way B-Movie was a brilliant game as well, if I'm being honest I'd completely forgot about it, so thanks :-). loving these member berries.
