Not that Charlie Sheen sh!t-bomb with the raptor noises and the backward knees.
Eh
The twist is baked in well adapted material after all but I didn't really care for it.
It feels like a
Bootstrap Paradox
.
And that twist is so integral to the film that it drains from what's on the surface, which is this amazing thing that cannot possibly be topped by some introspective solution.
I like the slow-burn, surgical approach to the film and I will admit I admired that the weight of the twist is emotionally impossible in scope. Kind of like Sicario, it's a development that feels like more than one person should be allowed to endure.
Watch it? Meh. It's passable and true to Sci-Fi. There are good performances, some political pandering, and oh boy it all depends on working with China. It's a fine movie that feels like it would've been overblown under any other direction. -

I saw it a few hours ago. There's still a lot that I need to take in
I can say that I thought it was a good movie but so many things went over my head
No rating for now.

Undeniably true.

I saw it Saturday. Definitely a slow burn.
"Costello is death process." That line actually hit me pretty hard when I realized he knew he was going to die the whole time and did it anyway.
Which leads you to the question of the movie?
Which is very similar to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Would you still fall in love/have a child with someone if you knew it was doomed to failure?
I enjoyed it though. Excellent cinematography and music. It is more a character/emotional drama with a sci-fi backdrop than a hard sci-fi movie.
There is one explosion and the gunfire is heard off-screen.
No f@cking sh`t lady does it sound like I'm ordering a pizza! -

I liked it a lot - not really a
Bootstrap Paradox
, even if one moment did weirdly remind me of
Bill and Ted
.
More a case of
accepting what life has in store for you
. Which may be another reason to compare it to Sicario
As for political pandering, half the point of the movie was about
how we communicate with one another and how misunderstandings can have devastating effects
, so that was fine. The Chinese got off better than
the Russians, who apparently still shoot their own rather than look wrong

While the title makes links to the Sheen movie easy; I really enjoyed that one
The movie Contact keeps popping into my head when I see the trailers. That one had a crap ending toosolid flick overall.
I'm avoiding this movie because of the lead actress though. Confused seems to be the only thing she is capable of portraying successfully and so goes for it regardless of the situation
According to me, yes. I am the person it's usually according to when I'm talking. -

You mean one of these?

Or this?;

But yeah, it's good, but it's no Contact.
Apparently, my son was on something called 'Acid' and was shooting a bow and arrow into a crowd.
